Maiken Haakonsson

IFS Therapist

I am a licensed psychologist based in Copenhagen, offering therapy grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS). I work with adults who want to deepen self-understanding, heal emotional wounds, and create lasting change through a compassionate, parts-oriented approach.

My clinical work focuses on helping clients connect with their inner system in a way that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. I am specialized in working with neurodivergence and support clients in navigating overwhelm, inner conflict, and relational challenges with greater clarity and self-leadership.

In therapy, I aim to create a calm and welcoming space where all parts are invited, and where growth can unfold at a pace that feels right for the client.

Therapy focus

  • I work primarily with neurodivergence and support clients in navigating the complexities of everyday life — from creating structure, routines, and a sustainable work or study life to managing executive functioning challenges, sleep, and energy. I often work with concerns such as anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, and difficulties with motivation, focus, and self-confidence. Therapy may also involve understanding how your mind works, strengthening learning and attention, and finding practical ways to use your strengths in daily life. Alongside this, I support clients in regulating emotions, building self-esteem, and improving relationships — whether with partners, family, or at work. My aim is to create a calm, collaborative space where insight and practical change can develop together.
